it was fun, you did a great job on the boat, mixing Ui and visualizing the controls.

Audio was good but i found the music a bit annoying

i really love the games art. i'm having a hard time picking up the very first item. I imagine maybe its just im not very good at is since I don't see anyone else pointing it out.  But do love the premise and art!

Thank you! ๐Ÿ’ƒ I hope there aren't unbeatable magnet levels, but there are so few variations I feel like I must have playtested them all.  :c Once you get the item hooked the magnet gets heavier and takes more time to turn, so you generally wanna start moving it ahead of time, if that helps!

Lovely experience! small touches here and there made me hyper aware. The whale (I imagine) shaking the boat, the fishes, the seagulls.

I could not find all the items in the list, however, there is a recurring bug where the "press anything to continue" pop up message won't go away. I restarted the game and it happened again.

This is so neat!

First off, I adore the color scheme. That teal-ish/yellow-ish combo is one of my favorite color combos, and the red accents are gorgeous with it.

I love the setting too. Having just watched Ponyo for the first time the other day, I've had a hankering for seafaring type stuff, and this very much fits! All the little details are great, from sfx to UI to the ship bumping around -- very good.

How did you do the logic for where items spawn? It may just be my imagination, but I feel like whenever I went in the general direction of the wildlife, they led me to an item! I have a conspiracy that the seagulls only lead you to boots though  >:{

Bless you for giving us 2 tries on picking up treasure, because some of them are tough!! I was very excited when I was able to do it without hitting the walls though :)

Dziฤ™kujemy!! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ Marte's responsible for the colours, and I agree! And Ponyo is great ๐Ÿ˜ป We'd been playing Wind Waker, so it was on our minds too. Actually wondered near the deadline if people would follow the gulls and whether it would've been cool to make them actually gravitate towards treasure but they don't actually haha. But everything spawns on a grid and then gets offset a bit, so they probably often end up near it anyway!

Interesting about the item spawning. In the end, even though you didn't program it as such, the wildlife had that effect on me ๐Ÿ‹  I suppose it's just that my curiosity with them caused me to do more than endlessly travel straight! ...also confirmation bias ๐Ÿ˜… Also I think just good subtle design on your/Marte's part!

Very nicely done! Congrats for finishing the jam with such a polished game with lovely mechanics. There sure are many old boots in the ocean!

No, I'm in the middle of a different jam, OSTJam Vol. 2, right now. I usually avoid LD unless there's a theme I especially like. I prefer more cozy jams, jams that do something different than the mainstream, and also jams with nice prizes. With LD, I find that it's just too big, there are too many games to play, and I've already done a bunch of LDs previously and am kind of bored with the LD experience. But I do love seeing what my friends make in LD and other game jams! I'm glad to see you experimenting with different styles and mechanics!
